UK garages recommended by UK barchetta owners
I think everyone will agree about the importance of building a good relationship with a local garage, especially when you own a car now approaching some rarity. How sensible then to compile a list of garages we can recommend to other club members. Many of us do travel away from our local areas in our barchettas so how comforting to carry a handy list of garages recommended by other members.
Can you recommend a garage?
Please let us know if you have a trusting relationship with a garage that services your Barchetta and we’ll add it to the list for the benefit of us all. Please include the garage name, address, contact details, and any brief comments you feel relevant and send to email@example.com

Welcome to the Fiat Barchetta owners technical manual. (written and maintained by barchetta owners worldwide)
In these page we hope to provide you with a collection of projects carried out by barchetta owners that will help you maintain your barchetta, some might even save you money!
WARNING. Please read ALL of the instructions for a project BEFORE commencing and if you are unsure about ANYTHING e-mail the author for clarification, an e-mail link is provided under the project title. If you are still unsure DO NOT start anything you may regret. The last thing we want to do is upset people by encouraging them to harm their barchetta. Sometimes Fiat will change or update part numbers, please double check you are ordering the correct part before placing an order.
To view a project just click on the link in the contents page. All projects have a rating from one spanner – the simplest, to five – the scariest.
None of the projects have been approved by Fiat and we must point out that any work you undertake will be at your own risk. Where possible safety precautions and environmental guidelines are included. Please remember in some cases you will be dealing with CAUSTIC, FLAMMABLE and POISONOUS substances and in other cases with DIRECT CURRENT electrical devices that do not like positive and negative terminals to be mixed up.
If you have any suggestions for projects, comments on or contributions for these pages please e-mail us via the contact page.
Lighting upgrade to LED
Whilst driving in convoy during the 2018 annual club meet, I noticed that, in sunlight, of which we had a lot, the rear lights on several cars, including my own, were not very bright. Why and what to do?
As owners will be aware the orange and red rear light lenses begin to fade over time and with a standard clear bulb they can appear pale.
The solution I have applied to VON (My Barchetta is M666VON) is to replace the standard bulbs with coloured LEDs.
The indicator is a standard R382 21 watt single filament bulb, this I changed for an orange LED equivalent. The latest versions of LED bulbs have an in-built resistor so they flash at the correct rate. They are available from “Better Car Lighting” see website (https://www.bettercarlighting.co.uk/)
at £34.99 a pair. Follow link to Classic Cars then find page 31.
The rear and brake light is a combined R380 5/21 watt bulb. The latest LED is a red version of this. They are available from same website Page 23 of the Classic Cars section. The price is again £34.99 and VAT needs to be added in both cases.
Fitting the bulbs is a straight “plug and play”, to use a modern term, and makes a really noticeable difference in daylight.
Better Car Lighting is a very friendly company, happy to talk on the phone and give advice.
The bulbs are not cheap but I feel well worth the money for the end result; bright rear lights.
