UK Barchetta Owners 200 Club Draw
Well here we are again at the highlight of the 200 Club year, the annual draw – and our best year to date. Due to the ghastly Covid 19 there has not been a Club meeting this year and consequently no opportunity to deliver the usual 200 Club draw. However, thanks to the wonders of modern technology, the draw took place on Saturday June 27th at 1800hrs on Zoom courtesy of David Ullathorne – thank you for your hospitality David! The winning tickets were drawn by my helpful neighbour Chris who, although not a club member demonstrates his Italian motoring credentials by owning a very smart Ducatti! Thanks are also due to Mark Simmons and Paul Ranson for acting as adjudicators in accordance with my local authority’s requirements.
About fifteen hopefuls tuned in for the event – the majority were hard core Clubbers but it was good to see one or two new members. The winners have all been notified and winnings sent and received as follows:
First prize Paul Martin £392
Second prize Nick Richardson £294
Third prize Greg & Lindsey Bailey £196
Fourth prize Louise Chicot £98
Those of you who are quick at maths will see that the total prize fund this year amounted to £980 – just short of the magic £1k. So thank you to all of you for supporting the Club again and especially those of you who bought extra tickets this time.
Hopefully this coming year we can easily pass the £1k mark with some of the Owners’ Club members who haven’t as yet joined and taken the plunge. It really is worth the price of a cup of coffee each month to be in with a chance of winning the cost of a year’s RFL and insurance on your little B!
As there was obviously no ‘formal’ AGM this year – the Committee all agreed to continue for another year – none of the attendees seemed to object, so status quo for another year!
Thank you again from all the Committee members – stay safe everyone and happy Barchetta motoring.
Mike Barnes
(Honorary Treasurer)
