Fiat and Friends – Event Report

I know a few club members who had attended last year’s inaugural meeting at the British Car Museum in Gaydon . I thought I would make the 2 hour journey to attend this year’s event . At £12 for a ticket and entry to the museum it was great value .

The museum is well worth a visit and the second building that holds the non display cars above the Jaguar display was a treasure trove of delights .

I counted 5 Barchetta’s including mine ,3 club cars in total. Roger Tye was there with his family and his nice Barchetta and X1-9 . We discussed multi car ownership and we both agreed it was better to have more lower priced cars ie classics than an expensive boring car .

The couple who had the Facelift grey Barchetta told me they had done many European trips in it and were very happy with the car . He pointed out his car had a Maggiora badge in the inner door where the non facelift cars have it . We wondered why as the Facelift cars were built in house .

There was a nice collection of Italian cars at the event as it was open to non Fiats. Sadly no Barchettas were lucky enough to win a prize . It was good to catch up with Michael ,Claire and Chris from Auto Italia Magazine who had a stand there and are good friends of the club .

Finally I would like to thank our friends from the Fiat Motor Club GB for organising the event.
